May 2007 Moose arrived! I gained a loyal companion and very intimidating running buddy! He was just six weeks old (already 10lbs!) and we spent our first 3 months together living at our lake house on Lake Oconee. Throughout that summer I had significant ankle pain that I avoided until it became unbearable. My 1st Thanksgiving (2007) with Moose was the first time I tried to heal my ankle without surgery so I was in a cast and on crutches. Our 2nd Thanksgiving I was in a wheelchair recovering from my three ankle surgeries. Our 3rd Thanksgiving I was having ankle trouble and wasn’t allowed to run. Finally today (2010) was the first Thanksgiving morning we were able to run together and I relished EVERY moment of it! We ran 3 miles in honor of Moose’s age - a tradition I want to continue every year!! Dad met me on the dock and we did some stretching and yoga poses.  The perfect Thanksgiving morning. Now family is starting to pour into the house and the kitchen is smelling AMAZING! I love this time of year. I love my dog. I love my happy, healthy family. Today, I have a multitude of blessings to count!
